I absolutely loved Toronto. I stayed in Kensington Market—a
Mecca for food shopping and very close to everything downtown. Toronto is perhaps
one of the most diverse cities that I have traveled to. The concept of race
felt almost non-existent. Like in the U.S., there were neighborhoods with shops
and restaurants from specific cultures—like Chinatown; however, in these
neighborhoods, one could find a person from any culture exploring a new one. It
felt like a cultural utopia. The people of the city were integrated with each other.
The combination of the slow(-er than New York) pace of
life, diversity, good food and smell of opportunity left me falling in love
with Toronto and wanting to go back.
This week I’m going to recap the good food that I tried of
Toronto and how I stayed healthy throughout this trip – keep in mind that I
needed to look good on camera at the beginning of my trip – and again at the
end of it.
Here’s what’s coming this week on the blog:
- Restaurant Review – Grasshopper
- Food in Kensington Market (Gourmet foods for cheap!)
- My Hostel Grocery List
- Fruit and Goat Yogurt Parfait
- Top Healthy Snacks for Traveling
- Easy Veggie Wraps – (1) The Vegan and (2) The Vegetarian Greek
Stay tuned and don’t forget to check out my TV
appearance for South Asian Focus TV on Rogers TV Channel 10 @ 10 AM on Sunday,
May 25 (Peel-Dufferin Region). The segment will run throughout the week. The
video can also be accessed online here: http://www.rogerstv.com/page.aspx?lid=12&rid=51&sid=3116
